Our team of professionals here at Safety Compliance Management are unique – not simply due to their hands-on experience in the safety and environmental fields, but because they have considerable expertise in their subject areas and/or their credentials meet or succeed the industry standard. Our staff develops and presents customized OSHA safety, hazardous material, DOT and environmental (RCRA, Title 22) training throughout the San Francisco Bay Area (San Jose, Oakland, Fremont). Safety Compliance Management has customized and provided safety training and environmental management services throughout Southern (Los Angeles, Long Beach, San Diego), Central (Fresno, Bakersfield), and Northern (Sacramento) California. Our team also provides safety assessments to large industries to develop a culture of safety.

    Paul Gantt, CSP, CHST, CET President and Founder

    Paul Gantt is the President and founding member of SCM Safety with over 35 years of experience in safety and health and emergency response and management.  Before starting SCM Safety, he worked in the fire service where he worked in several positions including Firefighter/Paramedic, Fire Captain, Fire battalion chief, Training Officer, Fire Marshal, and Chief Officer.  Paul has bachelors in Fire Science and Public Administration.  He also has a Masters in Advanced Safety Engineering and Management, and is currently enrolled in a doctorate program where he will research entry standards for the safety profession.  He is also a Board Certified Safety Professional, a Certified Environmental, Safety, and Health Trainer, and a Construction Health and Safety Specialist.  Paul is also one of the firm’s qualified expert witnesses and regularly works with attorneys providing legal services and testimony in a range of safety, health, and regulatory compliance issues. When Paul is not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife.  When he has the time to get away, his favorite vacation place is Las Vegas.

    RON GANTT, M. ENG, CSP, ARM, CET Vice President

    Ron Gantt is the Vice President of SCM Safety. He has over 15 years of experience in the safety field. Ron has earned his Masters of Engineering in Advance Safety Engineering and Management and has an undergraduate degree in Psychology and Occupational Safety and Health. In addition to his academic achievements Ron is also a Certified Safety Professional, an Associate Risk Manager and a Certified Environmental, Safety, and Health Trainer. Ron was awarded the 2013 Rising Star of Safety from the National Safety Council and the Young Talent Participant from the Resilience Engineering Association in 2015. Ron specializes in working towards creating noticeable change in the safety field by working with clients to enhance their safety leadership, safety management systems, regulatory compliance and organizational learning. In his free time Ron enjoys spending time with his wife and their 4 dogs, watching movies and learning new things.

    LAURA GANTT Chief Administrative Officer

    Laura Gantt is our Chief Administrative Officer and one of the founding members at SCM Safety. She has over 35 year of safety experience and she has an Associates in Liberal Arts. Laura is a certified Fire and crime prevention officer, a crime scene technician, and a Junior Fire Starters Interventionist. Her areas of expertise are in general health and safety and regulatory written programs. When Laura isn’t working she plays classical violin for a local ensemble. She also enjoys spending time with her family and friends and going to church.

    DAVE MILLS GENERAL MANAGER General Manager

    Dave Mills is the General Manager of SCM Safety. He has a long history of experience with 34 years in the Aviation industry, 9 years as a general manager and is a 20-year military veteran in the Royal Air Force. Some of Dave’s areas of expertise are in business development, executive management and strategic development and decision-making.  He holds a Bachelors in Aerospace Studies, a Bachelors in Adult Education and has a Federal Aviation Administration Airframe and Powerplant License. He is currently studying Risk Management and Strategic Decision Making at Stanford University. He is also a member of MENSA and the Institute of Engineering Technicians. When Dave isn’t running operations at SCM-Safety he enjoys time with his family, renovating his home and wine tasting.

  • KIRSTIE CHISHOLM
    KIRSTIE CHISHOLM E-Learning Manager

    Kirstie Chisholm is the E-Learning Manager at SCM Safety. She has been with Safety Compliance Management since March 2014.  She is currently designing the new 2016 Hazmatschool.com online training courses and working towards becoming a Certified Safety Professional. Before working at SCM Safety, Kirstie has worked as a Customer Service Representative in private aviation as well as Visual Merchandising, giving her the opportunities and skills needed to interact with a variety of clients. Away from the office, Kirstie enjoys spending valuable time with her son and family.

  • MARISA GONZALEZ
    MARISA GONZALEZ Accounting Manager

    Marisa Gonzalez has been with SCM Safety since 2014 as our Accounting Manager. She is in charge of our account receivables/payables. Marisa is currently working towards obtaining an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration. In her free time Marisa enjoys spending time with her family and her cat.

    DAVE PAOLETTA Senior Safety Consultant / Project Manager

    David Paoletta, MS, MBA, CSP, CUSP; is a senior safety consultant and project manager, for Safety Compliance Management Inc. in San Ramon, California.  He is the Subject Matter Expert for Electrical Safety, Utility Operations Safety and Construction Safety Management Programs. David earned a Masters Degree in Occupational Safety Management/Industrial Safety from Central Missouri State University and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of New Mexico’s Anderson School of Management. His safety credentials include a CSP in 2005 and CUSP (Certified Utility Safety Professional) in 2014.

    Although David has worked in training, quality control and environmental engineering, he is primarily an occupational health and safety professional specializing in designing effective safety programs in diverse organizations. Dave is a Past-President of the New Mexico Chapter of the ASSE in Albuquerque, NM; and President Elect of the San Francisco Chapter of ASSE.

    Dave is a dedicated fly fisher, sailor and Boston sports enthusiast and volunteers with his Certified Therapy Dog “Marlow” at Veterans support events, memory units and the SFSU Student Wellness program.

  • EARL THOMAS
    EARL THOMAS Trainer/Consultant

    Earl Thomas, who has 34 years of experience in the environmental waste management and safety and health fields, retired from the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in 2006 as a Permits and Regulatory Affairs Analyst.

    Earl currently serves as a consultant and instructor for SCM and facilitates a range of courses, such as advanced hazardous waste, DOT, IATA, IMDG, SPCC/APSA, and Hazwoper.

    He is well-known by State and local regulators and has been a featured speaker at three Certified Unified Program Agency conferences. Earl has also authored a 298-page technical juxtapose comparing Federal hazardous waste laws and regulations to those used in California.

  • ALVARO GOMEZ
    ALVARO GOMEZ Trainer/Consultant

    Alvaro Gomez is a Consultant Trainer at SCM Safety. He has 15 years of experience in the safety field specifically in the construction industry. Alvaro has worked in numerous fields throughout his extensive career. He holds a certificate in Occupational Safety and Health and is a certified Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST). Alvaro has expertise in helping organizations achieve VPP status. In his free time, Alvaro enjoys fly-fishing, fishing on his boat and spending time with his family.

  • MATT TRUMBO
    MATT TRUMBO Trainer/Consultant

    Matthew Trumbo is a Consultant Trainer at SCM.  Matthews experience began in 1977 as an HVAC installer and electrician.  He is also well versed in roofing, plumbing, cabinet and furniture making, rough and finish carpentry among other trades.  Matthew holds a “B” general contracting license and has worked for the last 22 years in the heavy construction industry with 7 years as a superintendent for a nation wide contracting firm.  For the last 17 years Matthew has devoted his career exclusively to the safety industry.
    Matthew holds a Professional Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health from the University of California, San Diego extension and is a board certified Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST).

    In his leisure time he enjoys travel with his wife of 30 years and 2 adult children and plays harmonica in various blues bands as well as volunteering at his local church.

  • FARAH RAIDHAN
    FARAH RAIDHAN Safety Technician

    Farah Raidhan is SCM’s Safety Technician. She has 9 years of safety and security experience. As a Safety Technician Farah is responsible for auditing and maintaining the vast array of safety equipment at SCM Safety. Additionally, Farah conducts audits, safety walks, equipment testing and inspections, and hazardous waste inspections.

    She is also one of SCM Safety’s industrial hygiene technicians; she provides audiometric testing, respiratory fit testing, and customized hygiene testing for our clients. In her free time Farah enjoys working out, cheering on Manchester United and spending time with her family and friends.

    SHARON TORO Remote Instructor

    Sharon Toro is our Remote Instructor at SCM Safety. She has been with Safety Compliance Management since October 2016. She assists our online students with everything from enrollments, course material questions, to accounting. Before working at SCM Safety, Sharon worked as Customer Service Representative and Account Sales Executive in the Aviation Industry for 18 years providing exceptional service to her customers. Away from the office, Sharon enjoys spending quality time with her family, friends and traveling.

  • LISA JO BROWN
    LISA JO BROWN Office Assistant

    Lisa Jo Brown has been with SCM since 2015 as an Administrative Assistant. She supports a variety of projects and programs primarily focused on the delivery of safety services (training, scheduling, etc) to our clients. In addition to client support, she collaborates across all aspects of our business to help drive organizational excellence. Lisa Jo enjoys the beautiful outdoors and spending time with her family. She is an active member of her community and volunteers in various capacities including helping the homeless.

  • DENISE GUTIERREZ
    DENISE GUTIERREZ Admin Assistant

    Denise is an admin assistant here at SCM Safety. She specializes in general health and safety and regulatory written programs. Before working at SCM she worked in banking for 6 years. She is currently working towards a B.S. In Criminal Justice Administration at CSUEB. During Denise’s time off she enjoys going to concerts, spending time with family and friends, traveling and staying active with bootcamp/crossfit classes.
