Industrial Accident and Emergency Response
SCM was an important member of the legal team for a major case involving a sodium explosion at a manufacturing facility in Newton, Massachusetts. The case spanned several years. SCM coordinated the sampling of the items involved and preparation of exhibits for court, including a full video re-creation of the incident.

Fall Protection Issues
SCM provided consultation and testimony at an arbitration hearing in Long Beach, California in a case involving failure to follow plant rules for fall protection. SCM spoke on the applicability of OSHA regulations and site rules.

Unsafe Use of Hazardous Materials
SCM provided research and developed a report on the hazards of the actions involved in a Long Beach wrongful termination lawsuit. SCM staff also provided deposition and subsequent testimony in federal court regarding the properties of Argon and its use in refinery operations.

Confined Space Double Fatality
SCM was retained to serve as an expert witness in a construction accident involving two electricians who died in a confined space in Chino, California. SCM researched the issues and provided a deposition on the major cause of the accident. The case was ultimately settled following our deposition prior to trial.

Industrial Accident Involving Pipe
SCM was retained to serve as an expert witness in a construction accident involving a worker who suffered major facial fractures from an accident involving a pipe that had been improperly packaged for shipment.

Unsafe Use of a Fire Pole
SCM was retained to consult and provide an opinion regarding an accident involving an injury which resulted from a civilian using a fire pole in a fire station. We prepared a written statement as to our upcoming testimony and the case was settled prior to trial.
