Wrong Daisy-Chain
When you were young, did you pick daisies and try to string them together to make a chain? I did. But in this week’s picture, we have a different kind of daisy chain. Take a look.
Similar to connecting the stems on daisies to make a chain, someone connected two extension cords together. Not only is this an OSHA violation, but it’s also against the fire codes, which specify that flexible (extension) cords can only provide electricity to one item.
What’s the solution? Use a longer cord, move the equipment closer to the receptacle, and keep in mind that extension cords are only for temporary use. We don’t give you extra points for getting creative and using extension cords to fix long-term problems.
